The Pros and Cons of Having a Sick Kid

I know, the title is odd, and definitely has nothing to do with saving money or coupons.  But, this is what I've been dealing with this week and thought most of you parents out there could relate.

My 6 year old son as an upper respiratory infection.  Poor kiddo looks like dog doo-doo.  As I'm sure you all know, when you have a sick kiddo, nothing gets done!  We don't get to go to work (although this could be a pro!), we can't get housework done because our kiddo wants us glued to them and we pray that we don't catch what they have causing us to stay home even longer and more work going undone.  Plus, we hate seeing our kids not feel well.  These are all the cons that I can see with a sick kiddo.

So what are the pros you ask?  Well, for me, my son is SUCH a cuddle bug when he is sick.  My son is a VERY active boy, and although he will cuddle here and there, it's only briefly before moving on to something else.  When he is sick, he is almost too cuddly, but I love it!  I also enjoy the time I get to devote to just him.  He's a twin, so finding that one-on-one time is difficult and has to be planned appropriately so the other doesn't get jealous.  When my daughter is sick, she is also very clingy and we get to spend nice one-on-one time as well.

Leave me a comment and tell me what you think the pros and cons are of when your kids get sick.
